2017 – Power

Their destruction by a terrorist attack in 2001 reinforced the image of the Twin Towers of New York’s World Trade Center as a symbol of American power. François Ruegg transposes this image to China, with these Twin Towers made of two wrapped Ming-style vases. Is this an image of the old imperial power with the seeds of a future power, still hidden? Geopolitical tensions and the global balance of power are changing very fast. What form will the new images of power take tomorrow, and for how long?
