2023 – Absence-Présence
95 x 38 x 32 cm
Gres engobes noir/bleu 1040° or mixt media metallic
This sculpture represents a trouser in suspension, with no body to wear it, thus creating a floating effect. Visually, the work explores the absence of the human body, which creates an atmosphere that is both intriguing and slightly disturbing. The realism of the fabric and the folds in the trousers are very detailed, reinforcing the illusion of presence. This type of sculpture can be interpreted as a reflection on absence, abandonment or the ephemeral, themes often explored in contemporary installations. The use of hanging clothes can also evoke a feeling of transformation or immateriality, playing with the idea of what remains after an object has been used.
